Recorded at the Eastside Sound in NYC, this limited edition of The Dreamers ‘The gentle side’ is spinning for the first time on the Gyro SE with the SME V tonearm.
Although a picture disk, the quality of the pressing is still good. There is added groove noise but the SME V/Grado combination is handling it very quietly. A delightful, fresh sounding disk with Marc Ribot on the guitar and Joey Baron on drums. Other collaborators are Kenny Wollesen (vibes), Jamie Saft (k), Trevor Dunn (b) and Cyro Baptista (perc.).
It brings back the memory of Jazz Middelheim 2010 where John Zorn performed with Bar Kokhba. That was, for me, the best performance of the day.
Few days ago, I started with the cleanup of the room that will host my HiFi equipment. This room is measuring 4,30m by 9m and is about 4,5m high. Used as an attic in the past, there is still a lot of work to do. Here are some pictures of the cleaned up space.
A new floor has also been added. The next step will be the application of thermal and acoustic isolation so that no airborne noise can enter the room while listening to one of my disks.
